Stop the border wall.

Dear friend,

We would like to ask you to take ten minutes to do something simple that will have great impact on the lives of many good and decent people living along the South Texas border.

We respectfully request you to fax a short letter, e-mail or make a telephone call Senators Hutchison and Cornyn, Governor Rick Perry or your respective member of congress, asking that they use their influence to delay construction of the wall along the border.  Below is a sample letter you can use... or write your own and the contact information for the addressees.  The sooner you take a few minutes to do this, the better it will be for human rights in South Texas.

Thank you,

Ann Williams Cass

July ___, 2008

Dear ______________,

I am one of the million voters that oppose the construction of this wall.  I respectfully urge you in the strongest possible terms to do all you can to stop the construction of the wall along the US/Mexico border that is set to begin on July 25, 2008.  Thousands of people have already signed the petition against the border wall notexasborderwall.com and many more will soon join the protest.

Technology has made this wall unnecessary.   Studies by the Department of Homeland Security itself have shown that this wall will not stop undocumented workers from entering the country.  This wall will worsen US-Mexican relations, the border's and the state's economy, the environment, eco-tourism, and agriculture.

Sincerely,

________
